XMTG Firearms Training Academy is located east of Dallas, Texas in Scurry. We provide training to Law Enforcement, Military, Security, as well as the responsible citizen.

XMTG was founded by James Ferguson. James served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Marine Corps Reserve after graduating High School. While serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, James started a career in Law Enforcment. James retired from the Mesquite Police Department in Texas with a little over 30 years of service. James spent the majority of his Career serving as a Tactical Officer and a Firearms Instructor. During his time in police work, James worked as a Patrol Officer, Background Investigator, Entry Team Member, Sniper Team Member, Sniper Team Leader, Firearms Instructor, Range Master, Tactical Supervisor, C.I.D. Supervisor, and Agency Training Coordinator. James has logged thousands of hours training academy classes, in-service classes, sniper/counter sniper classes, and civilians in the use of firearms and tactics.
In our training classes the environment is set up to allow the student to learn without becoming stressed out. No matter what your background, you will enjoy your training cycle. All egos are checked at the door. There is no place for egos in the training environment. Our goal is to help you become better prepared for whatever situation that you may find yourself in and help you develop the right skill set and confidence, so you come out on top.

Our team is led by James Ferguson who is the Founder, and Director of Training for XMTG Firearms Training Academy. Donna Ferguson is the Co-Founder and Chief Administrative Officer of the company. Together they have assembled a group of professional instructors that are experts in their fields.
