XMTG Firearms Training Academy
XMTG Firearms Training Academy is located east of Dallas, Texas in Scurry. We provide training to Law Enforcement, Military, and Security personnel as well as to responsible citizens.
XMTG was founded by James Ferguson. James served in the United States Marine Corps and United States Marine Corps Reserve after graduating High School. While serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, James started a career in Law Enforcement. James has over 30 years of experience with the majority of his career spent serving as a Tactical Officer and Firearms Instructor for Mesquite Police Department. James has worked as a Patrol Officer, Background Investigator, Entry Team Member, Sniper Team Member, Sniper Team Leader, Firearms Instructor, Range Master, Tactical Team Supervisor, C.I.D Supervisor, and the Agency Training Coordinator. James has logged thousands of hours training academy classes, in-service classes, tactical classes, sniper/counter sniper classes, and civilians in the use of firearms and tactics. Throughout James’s career he has made contacts which allowed him to assemble a professional instructor cadre. Our instructors come from Military or Law Enforcement backgrounds and are true experts in their field. James retired from Law Enforcement with 30 years and 3 months of service. James now serves as the CEO and Director of Training for XMTG.In our training classes the environment is set up to allow the student to learn without becoming stressed out. Even though we train Law Enforcement and Military Professionals we provide training for civilians as well. No matter what your background, you will enjoy your training cycle. All egos are checked at the door. There is no place for egos in the training environment. Our goal is to help you become better prepared for whatever situation that you may find yourself in and help you develop the right skill set and confidence, so you come out on top!
