Today we headed to the range to shoot some steel with our 16 inch AR-15 carbines. I was shooting my Colt 6920 and my son was running his LMT Defender. Today was a perfect time to use our new shooting platform that is almost finished.
The weather was perfect, 77 degrees and very little wind. The wind was coming from 7 o’clock and was between 0 and 1.4 MPH. We shot 8″ AR500 steel plates from 300 to 500 yards.
My rifle is equipped with a Steiner 1-4 power optic and my sons Defender is topped off with a Vortex Viper PST 1-4. We were shooting Sierra 69gr match projectiles. If you have never shot steel targets be sure and visit our training schedule and sign up for a class!
