Over the Christmas Holidays I picked up me a new piece of equipment. The Eberlestock G4 Operator pack. This is a 4700 cubic inch pack designed specially for the sniper. The pack empty weighs in at 10 pounds 3 ounces. What makes this pack so special? It is designed to carry a weapon system in the pack to allow you to be hands free or carry an additional weapon system in your hands. Counting the weapon compartment the pack is a whopping 5000 cubic inches. Some of the features of this pack are as follows;
- 5000 cubic inch tactical backpack
- Integrated scabbard can hold weapons up to 60″ long
- Optional butt cover fully encloses mounted weapons
- 2x hydration sleeves for hydration bladders
- Deep side pockets, two front door storage pouches, and an upper assembly
- Large main cavity with zip out shelf for compartment division or unification
- Both top and front-loading
- Rear wall radio compartment for military radios
- PALS/Padlock webbing along interior and exterior
- Extremely comfortable support system
- Can be used as a shooting bench
- Pull-out rain cover
- Available in Coyote Brown, Dry Earth, Ranger Green, or MultiCam colors
I got my pack in Ranger Green and it matches my other equipment pretty good. I was able to get all of my call out equipment in this pack and still have some room left over. I can now use this pack on call outs or trips to the range. Everything I need for either type of use is in one ready to go pack! I think Eberlestock hit a home run when they made this pack. If you are a Military/LE sniper or a precision rifle shooter this is definitely one piece of equipment you need to look at adding to your inventory! The photo is of my pack fully loaded out with a LaRue OBR equipped with a Leupold Mark8 and a Thunderbeast suppressor in the rifle compartment. I have always heard good things about Eberlestock products and now that I have had time to use this pack some, I can tell you that all the roomers are true. Eberlestock does make an outstanding product!
