How Much Have You Spent on Your Weapon This Year?

How much spent on rifle vs. AR-15 training

It’s a simple question. If you add up all of the modifications and upgrades, how much do you think it’ll total?

Let’s take my buddy Patrick as an example. This year, Pat spent $50 bucks on his fancy new muzzle brake, $40 for a Magpul MOE Carbine Stock, $50 on magazines, and about $450 bucks on an Eotech holo sight, all for his AR-15.

So let’s add that up. $50 + $40 + $50 + $450 = $590, right?

Wrong. Pat has actually spent $0 on his weapon this year.

Sure, he spent $590 on his rifle, but a rifle is just a tool. The person using the rifle is the weapon. And this year, Pat has spent $0 for training; $0 to hone that weapon. He has run no drills, put no rounds down range while on the move, has not practiced shooting from cover, nor has he practiced transitioning from his rifle to his pistol under stress.

The point is, don’t be like Pat. A nice rifle in the hands of someone who knows how to use it is a heck of thing to behold, but it takes quality training to make it anything more than a loud paperweight.

The good news is that it doesn’t cost very much money; way less than most gun owners spend adding doodads to their rifle. For a few hundred bucks, you can take one of our Dallas tactical rifle classes, and learn to use your AR-15, AK-47, Sig MPX, Tavor, CZ Scorpion, etc. as a capable self-defense tool.

Again, your rifle is just a tool, you are the weapon. Invest accordingly.
