Successful Antelope Hunt!

A few weeks ago we had two clients attend a Long Range Hunter class to prepare for an upcoming antelope hunt  in October.  The goal of the class was to provide the shooters with the knowledge and skills needed to extend their effective hunting range with their chosen rifle.  The first thing that we had to do was to ensure the rifles were set up correctly.  Once that was done the rifles were zeroed and the the projectile velocity was determined by a chronograph.  The next order of business was to gather data out to 500 yards and work on reading the wind to ensure a hit on game sized targets.  Once all the data was gathered it was time to shoot from improvised shooting positions and learn how to use a ballistic program on a smart phone.  We were able to do all of this in one day as well as a few other learning objectives.  By the end of the day our clients were equipped with the knowledge needed for their upcoming hunt.

As time went by I was wondering how the Texas antelope hunt had turned out when out of the blue I received a text from Aaron.  Aaron had made a 350 yard shot on a outstanding antelope.  Aaron had to deal with a 25 MPH full cross wind to make the shot.  After attending our training he was equipped with the knowledge and skill set to make this shot allowing him to bring home one fine trophy.  Congrats Aaron on a successful hunt!
