LPVO Operator Course

LPVO in ActionThe LPVO Operator Course (Low Power Variable Optic) is a 3-day (24 Hour) course that is designed for the Patrol Officer or SWAT Officer that will be responding to in-progress high risk encounters and utilizing a carbine equipped with a LPVO. This course will focus on utilizing the LPVO equipped rifle at CQB distances as well as distances out to 500 yards (Location Dependent). Students will receive instruction on how to use their LPVO through all of the magnification ranges, engage targets with more precise fire, and how to use the optic to identify possible threats that may not be visible without a magnified optic. Students will also receive instruction on optic selection and the various reticle choices available for LPVOs and how to utilize them. During the registration process please provide via email your optic and reticle that you will be utilizing in the course.  This course is limited to 10 students.

Optic and Reticle Selection

Rifle set up

Fundamentals of precision marksmanship

Zeroing

Introduction to Ballistic Apps

External, Internal, and Terminal Ballistics

Effects of intermediate barriers (intermediate barrier workshop)

Improvised shooting positions

Equipment List:

 

Patrol Rifle with 3 or more magazines

LPVO with a true 1 power on the low end

200 rounds of duty ammunition

1000 rounds of training ammunition, minimum.  If you have more that would be great!

Bi-pod

Soft Armor

Plate Carrier

Duty belt, pistol, holster (No Blackhawk Serpa Holsters), magazines

200 rounds of handgun ammunition

Eye protection

Hearing protection

Clothing appropriate for the weather

Knee pads (nice to have)

Any additional patrol gear you may need

Food and water for each day

Cost $800 (If course conducted at our TX location)
