LPVO Instructor Course

The LPVO Instructor Course (Low Power Variable Optic) is a 5-day (40 Hour) course that is designed for the firearms instructor that will be implementing a LPVO program at their department.  This course is an additional two days at the end of our LPVO Operator Course.   This course will provide you with the knowledge and understanding on how to go back to your department, build and instruct your own LPVO Operator Course.   In this course, the student will be required to complete presentations, courses of fire, and run the range safely.  A lap top computer is required for the course that is capable of creating power point presentations.  You must attend the 3-day LPVO Operator Course to attend the LPVO Instructor CourseYou must be a certified firearms instructor from your state.  Documentation will be required.  Course is limited to 10 students.

Optic and Reticle Selection

Rifle set up

Fundamentals of precision marksmanship

Zeroing

Introduction to Ballistic Apps

External, Internal, and Terminal Ballistics

Effects of intermediate barriers (intermediate barrier workshop)

Improvised shooting positions

Program Creation

Presentation Development

Instructor Presentation

 

 

Equipment List:

 

Lap top computer with power point capability

Patrol Rifle with 3 or more magazines

LPVO with a true 1 power on the low end

200 rounds of duty ammunition

1200 rounds of training ammunition, minimum.

Bi-pod

Soft Armor

Plate Carrier

Duty belt, pistol, holster (No Blackhawk Serpa Holsters), magazines

200 rounds of handgun ammunition

Eye protection

Hearing protection

Clothing appropriate for the weather

Knee pads (nice to have)

Any additional patrol gear you may need

Food and water for each day
