Recently I met the guys that own Advanced Target Development. I was able to pick up a prototype target and test it out for them. The target system is a stand with a swinging plate on it. The stand will break down small enough to fit in the trunk of a car so you can haul it to the range. I shot the target with 9mm and 45 ACP handguns and 5.56 mm and .308 rifles. The AR 500 plate did a great job of taking the abuse even though I shot it at 60 yards with the rifles. Most target manufacturers do not recommend shooting their steel any closer than 100 yards with rifles. Even though I abused the plate it did not pit.
